What I like most about the word “dude” is its amazing versatility. Not only is it gender-neutral, but it’s also a great exclamation. It’s also probably going to get me in trouble one day because it’s a word, much like “shitty”, that I fail to realize is not formal decorum and tend to drop it during inappropriate situations. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve probably said: “Dude, that’s shitty” during an interview before. And you wonder why I’m unemployed.
