Feeling Ways About Things
As some of you know……I drive a party bus on the weekends.
It can be a LOT of fun….AND a huge pain in the ass.
I put up with drunks and assholes……but when everything goes right……I’m basically driving a party on wheels.
Good times.
I work very hard for my money. And while my basic pay is good……I’m trying my best to get those all important tips.
Case in point: Last night I had a mixed age group for a birthday party. By the end of the night I had older people hanging out on the bus, as they didn’t like the clubs the younger ones were going in. Eventually I overhear one complain about the CD that was still playing on the bus, muttering they’d appreciate anything else at this point……”where’s some MJ when you need him”.
Less then a minute later…..my iPod is plugged in and The Wall is playing & I have happy people telling me how awesome I am.
But when they bailed on the bus 15 minutes later (they had people come get them)……I wasn’t awesome enough for a tip.
>sigh<
Four hours of driving & frustration yielded me $31 in tips. Thirty of that was from the person who contracted the bus, at the end of the night.

*included picture has it’s own story: Yes…..that IS the bus I drive, and it’s pretty boss. We stopped at a local gas station for some ATM shenanigans, this young lady pulled up next to me & started yelling. It took a second for me to step out & see what she wanted….and that’s when I saw her car.
“I’ve been chasing you for the last 6 blocks! WE MATCH!”
Of course, pictures were mandatory & my boss got quite a kick out of it.
Related: for those who have asked for video/pictures of my working stories……I’m now packing a better camera, so stay tuned!
